Ahead of the Engineering Excellence Awards Gala on Friday, February 25th, ACEC/MN would like to take a moment to communicate with you about safety guidelines that will be in place for this event.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all in person at this event. ACEC/MN continues to monitor infection rates and local, state and federal requirements. The safety of our members and community is of the utmost importance to our association and we ask for your help in protecting the health, safety & welfare of your fellow ACEC/MN members, staff and all Minnesotans.

All attendees will be required to either:

  • Be fully vaccinated OR
  • Take a PCR test within 72 hours of the event and receive a negative result.

All attendees will be asked to self-attest that they are fully vaccinated or have received a negative result when checking in at Registration.

Masks:

Per St. Paul Executive Order January 5, 2022, 2022-2, masks will be required for attendees:

Must require all Individuals to wear a face covering indoors at all times when social distancing of at least 6 feet is not maintained, except for temporary removal of face covering when eating or drinking.

  • Properly worn/fitted face masks are an effective mitigation measure to prevent the transmission of COVID – be sure your mask covers both your mouth and nose, secure it under your chin and make sure it fits securely against your face.
  • N95, KN95, and KF94 disposable masks, when properly worn, provide additional protection for yourself and others as compared to cloth or surgical masks.
  • ACEC/MN will provide disposable masks for all attendees.

Distancing:

Please refrain from shaking hands and hugging when greeting others. An elbow bump, foot tap, or wave will reduce the risk of transmission from direct contact

Hygiene:

Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds will reduce the risk of COVID-19. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Wash or sanitize your hands especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing and before eating. Between hand washing and sanitizer use, avoid touching your mask, eyes, nose, and mouth. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the event.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID (see this list of symptoms from the CDC here), attendees must take a PCR test within 72 hours of the event. If you test positive, do not attend the event as you will be at risk to transmit COVID to your colleagues and ACEC/MN staff.

We will continue to monitor local conditions and adjust these guidelines to protect the health and safety of our attendees and staff.

We're looking forward to a fun and safe celebration next month - hope to see you there!
