DESCRIPTION:Session Description: Collaboration and teamwork have always been integral to the design and construction process\, yet there is an ever-increasing demand for better results\, be they driven by client or the firm itself. \n\nDesign complexity\, construction quality\, difficult schedules\, rapidly changing technologies\, tight budgets\, and challenging design/construction processes all contribute to the stress and strain of creating extraordinary projects for clients\, while remaining profitable and humane throughout the life of the project. \n\nUtilizing the teamwork model of Patrick Lencioni as a basis for presentation and discussion\, participants will gain insight on the five principles that will maximize extraordinary results for any team. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: Learn about the foundation principle of personal and team relationships\, and why it is so critical to success. \n\nUnderstand the Five Dysfunctions of a Team (Patrick Lencioni)\, and how they prevent teams (and organizations) from maximizing their success. \n\nRecognize how individual personality type impacts team dynamics and tips to manage personal and team behaviors. \n\nParticipate in a group discussion on successes and failures of teams\, and chart characteristics of successful teams. \n\n\n\nSpeaker Biography: As President of Ruehl + Associates\, Nick advises high performing organizations in strategic planning\, business development\, leadership development\, and team building. He is a valued resource to the A/E/C industry\, having over 40 years of experience in design\, project management\, client development\, and firm ownership/leadership. Prior to forming Ruehl + Associates in 2005\, he was a Managing Principal of an architecture\, engineering\, and construction management firm with significant regional presence in the upper Midwest.
