SUMMARY:Real-Life Construction Administration Dilemmas
DESCRIPTION:Construction administration claims continue to climb as the source of liability for Engineers in modern practice. Industry studies show that even though construction administration typically accounts for only 20% of the engineer's fee on a project\, Construction Administration results in nearly 80% of the reported claims. This seminar will look at real-life construction administration situations that have happened to engineers in their practice\, and we will discuss tools and strategies to address the situations in a way that reduces the potential for a claim.\n\n \n\nPresenter: Eric Heiberg is a partner at the law firm of Heley\, Duncan & Melander\, PLLP. He has advised design professionals for over 20 years on general liability\, business\, contractual and employment issues that arise on a sometimes daily basis. Eric is also a seasoned litigator and advocate who works tirelessly on behalf of his design professional clients in all types of claims litigation. Eric routinely advises his clients during complicated projects regarding proper project documentation and process\, and has helped dozens of firms during the construction administration process to minimize potential liability even in sticky situations.\n\n\n\n* NOTE: To the best of our knowledge\, this program meets the requirements of continuing education as outlined by the Minnesota Board of Registration and should count as 1.5 PDH or .15 CEU. Certificates will be distributed to those in attendance immediately following the seminar.
