Event Description:
Three adjacent large diameter, 84 and 96 inch corrugated metal pipes (CMP), were severely compromised due to the devastating effects of hurricane Harvey. The damage to the pipes was so great in some areas that the owner, Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD), was fearful the road could collapse. The road impacted, Clay Road, is a major artery in a very heavily traffic section of Houston, Texas. The rehabilitation process employed a multi-prong approach to address the gaps, voids and missing sections prior to the structural geopolymer liner being applied. Multiple repair techniques and products were used to structurally rehabilitate the entire pipe runs.
