This program is free to ACEC/MN members. Lunch is provided by TDA.
This one-hour course will provide participants with an overview of the use and application of TDA's high value, lightweight aggregate product manufactured from discarded end-of-life tires. Recycled tires are shredded into irregular shapes and sizes from 2 inches to 10 inches in size, and is called “Tire Derived Aggregate”, or TDA for short. This sustainable value-added aggregate product provides environmental, economic and performance benefits to a variety of civil engineering projects, and when installed properly is safe, LEED Certifiable, and approved as a standing beneficial use aggregate by the MPCA. (Minn. Administrative Rule 7035.2860 subd. G & H).
Monte Niemi, Founder and Owner of First State Tire and TDA Manufacturing, will present the 10 Beneficial Properties of TDA, and how these properties are applicable to solving a variety of problems encountered in various civil engineering projects:
