Description
The definition of communication is the activity of conveying information through the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, through speech, visuals, signals, writing, or behavior. It is the meaningful exchange of information between two or more living creatures. Seems simple right? Why then does communication scare so many of us; public speaking, putting together the client proposal, and that next interview that can cause you to win or lose that prospect. Come to this morning seminar we’ll help you develop the skills necessary to effectively communicate in a variety of mediums. Be it public speaking, writing or going through the interview process, this program addresses each of these important aspects of the communication process.
This presentation is good for leaders of all levels who desire ways to improve their communication skills, obtain and retain new clients.

Wally, a current toastmaster will go through all ten tips He will give you the tools you need to gain more confidence with an audience and to give stronger presentations.
Writing a Winning Proposal – Marlene Johnson
How you write matters. A winning proposal must do more than simply present information about who you are and what you do. It must convince your readers that you understand their needs as well as they do and you have the best solution. If you struggle with writing proposals that are clear, concise, and memorable, this session will give you strategies for getting the results you want.

PRESENTERS:
Wally Ouse: Mechanical Engineer for 44 plus years, principal of his own firm for 28 years, currently working with Braun Intertec Geothermal, Inc. Wally is a charter member of Eloquent Engineers Toastmaster club involved with mentoring new Speech Craft participants. He is a Past Board Member, Past President and Past National Director of ACEC/MN. Wally has been involved in ACEC/MN legislative activities as well as given numerous presentations to public clients including school boards, church boards and city councils.
Marlene Johnson: With over 25 years’ experience, Marlene has been helping clients of Fortune 500 companies and in a wide variety of industries become more productive and achieve better results through their written and spoken communications. Marlene holds degrees in English and American Studies from the University of Minnesota. She has studied acting at HB Studios in New York City and is a member of the National Storytelling Network.
Dean Hyers: As an award-winning filmmaker and founder of SagePresence, Dean Hyers has spent the last 12 years translating his experience of creating compelling stories and facilitating powerful performance to the professional world.
