Description
Most design engineers have a pretty good grasp on when and where to use the everyday precast or cast in place box culvert. The same could be said for a conventional clear span bridge. However, only a small percentage of the engineering community knows when and where a Structural Plate, Steel Truss, or Conspan Bridge System is a viable choice for a site. Believe it or not, many of the common concerns/misconceptions (durability, scour, agency acceptance, etc.), related to these structures, can be easily addressed.
Few projects go through their design life without discussions related to cost or schedule. If you could save your client money, time, and secure your place as their options-centric designer, would you do it? Contech Engineered Solutions provides a comprehensive array of plate, precast, and truss structures, with the best known brands available worldwide. Contech bridges – vehicular and pedestrian – fit a wide variety of applications, spanning distances from five to 300 feet and more. These brands include Contech Structural Plate, CON/SPAN, BEBO, Continental Bridge, Steadfast EXPRESS and U.S. Bridge. Experience, innovative thinking and exceptional service have put more than 78,000 Contech bridge installations, on the map worldwide, since 1931.
This seminar will cover the following topics:
- Technical Information on Structural Plate, Precast, and Truss Bridges
- Successful past projects and why a Contech Structure was chosen
- Foundations and End Treatment Options
- Relining aging bridges and box culverts with new structures
- Environmental considerations and how they play into structure selection
- Design tools & utilizing Contech resources
