Kolu Wilson, Director of DEED’s Office of Economic Equity and Opportunity. She has spent her entire career working to eliminate social and economic disparities for minority and low income communities. She started her career in the public and non-profit sectors as a community coordinator with Minneapolis Restorative Justice Community Action, Inc. working to eliminate disparities in the criminal justice system. She served the City of Minneapolis and its resident by working to ensure City contracts and project include women, minorities and low income communities. She most recently served as the Director of Contract Compliance with the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights. Kolu has a bachelor’s of science degree in urban studies from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from Arizona Summit Law School. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota.
Nick Ruehl owner of Ruehl + Associates for over 11 years has been inspiring leaders to achieve their personal and organizational potential, through coaching Leadership Development, Strategic Planning, Team Building, and Innovation.
Prior to forming Ruehl + Associates in 2005, he was a Managing Principal of an upper Midwest architecture, engineering, and construction management firm. Nick has 45 years of experience in company ownership and leadership.
In addition, Nick has experienced Public Sector Leadership, having served 4 terms as Mayor of the City of Excelsior, Minnesota.
Steve Salmi of Corporate Psychologists for over 25 years, has worked as a trusted partner with organizations on the identification, development and retention of the talent needed to compete in this economy. He has extensive experience in employee selection, leadership development, and succession planning.
Steve is an active member of American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC-MN), Vistage International and is a Vistage Minnesota Champion. He has presented at national conferences and professional workshops, and he is published in various scientific journals.
Debra S. Magnuson, VP of Talent Management, CPI Twin Cities is an executive coach, career counselor, leadership development consultant, and speaker. Debby is co-author of the book, Work with Me: A New Lens on Leading the Multigenerational Workforce, and is a Vistage speaker on the topic of managing the intergenerational workforce. She is on the faculty of St. Catherine University’s Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) program. Debby serves as a Board Member for Girls in Action, an education non-profit.
Bev Brown, Director of Inclusion & Engagement, Xcel Energy Inc has been with Xcel Energy for 38 years. For the first 28 years Bev held a wide variety of positions in Operations including Field Collections, Meter Reading, Customer Care, Marketing, and Business Solutions to name a few. In 2007, Bev transferred into HR and created engagement and recognition programs. Since 2010, Bev led the Diversity and Inclusion efforts in the company. Recently her team has been involved in a corporate initiative called Intentional Hiring.
