Description
The ACEC/MN sponsored indemnification law has been in effect for almost two years. Even as the law becomes more established, there are still clients who are trying to circumvent the law. Our speakers will discuss how the law is applied, what services provided by members firms are covered under the law, clauses they are seeing that try to go around the law, and strategies your firm can take to eliminate these uninsurable risks. We will also cover other state laws that have passed in recent years that are affecting the consulting engineering profession.
We’ll start the presentation with Randy Morris discussing what to expect this upcoming legislative session, an early forecast of this fall’s election and other legislative and regulatory and issues facing the membership. Randy Geerdes will follow providing a brief update on ACEC/MN advocacy efforts for transportation funding during the 2016 legislative session.
The panel presentation will be given by: Mark Bloomquist of Meagher & Geer, PLLP, Eric Heiberg of Heley, Duncan & Melander, PLLP, and Holly Newman of DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore S.C., Dan Larson of AET, Indemnification Committee and Randy Morris, ACEC/MN lobbyist.
