Description
ACEC National’s new President and CEO, Linda Bauer Darr, and Senior Vice President for Advocacy and External Affairs, Steve Hall, will be joining us to discuss some of the opportunities and challenges facing your businesses in the future. Linda will share some of the changes at the national office and the programs being implemented to better serve members’ needs. Steve will speak to the legislative/regulatory agenda in Washington, DC and ACEC’s legislative agenda in Congress in 2019, including the focus on infrastructure funding. He will also cover some of the successes ACEC has had on the national level, such as securing the 20% tax deduction for A/E passthrough for firms and a lower tax rate for C corporations.
Linda B. Darr, President and CEO, ACEC
A broadly experienced association executive, Linda spent the last four years as CEO at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) where she was able to bring about positive change and grow the reputation and stature of ASLRRA. Prior to that Linda led the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) as CEO from 2007 – 2014. She also served as Senior Vice President for Policy & Communications at the American Bus Association, (ABA) and Vice President for International Affairs at the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Between her assignments at ATA and AMSA, she was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary, Budget and Programs at the U.S. Department of Transportation where she managed a $50B annual budget.
Steve Hall, Senior VP Advocacy & External Affairs, ACEC
Steve joined ACEC in 2001 and serves as Senior Vice President for Advocacy and External Affairs. He is a fourteen-year veteran on Capitol Hill, most recently as Chief of Staff and Legis. Director for Congresswoman Sue Kelly (R-NY). Prior to joining the Kelly office in 1995, Steve served for two years as Senior Legis. Assistant on the staff of Congressman Bill Zeliff (R-NH), where he handled the Congressman's work on the Transportation and Infrastructure and Government Operations Committees. He also handled transportation and infrastructure issues for Congressman Matthew Rinaldo through congressional consideration and passage of ISTEA in 1991.
