Description
This presentation focuses on the what, why, and how of being an effective leader. You don’t have to go far to find a wide variety of research, resources, and public opinion as to what leaders are meant to – or should – do. As well, the same quantity of literature or peer discussion is available to help explain why a leader is in a position of influence and inspiration. And while there is quite a bit of research on how a leader becomes an effective leader, there is much less research and discussion on how a leader maintains his or her effective leadership practice through an ever-increasing complex, ambiguous, and global environment that organizations operate in. Please join Dr. Zwieg Daly as she shares some thoughts on developing ethical leaders and mastering one’s leadership discipline.
Then, hear from special guest, Dr. Delores Henderson, former principal of Hazel Park Preparatory Academy. She will share what it means to be a thought leader based on her experiences and creative programs that have reached hundreds of children. She will offer advice for the engineering community on targeted outreach and ideas to bridge the educational achievement gap. Dr. Henderson has served over 20,000 students and families during her career.
