Description
ACEC/MN will be holding a meeting for members on March 9 to discuss actions that ACEC/MN has taken so far and potential future actions regarding our challenge of the Metropolitan Council’s conflict of interest policy in relation to the SWLRT and future projects. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 9, 2018, 1:30 pm at the Minneapolis Marriott West. Please RSVP if you plan on coming.
At the meeting we will discuss:
- Why ACEC/MN chose to act
- Actions taken so far
- Letters to Metropolitan Council
- Testifying at the Legislative Commission on Metropolitan Government
- Actions taken so far
- Response from the Metropolitan Council
- Proposed change that would bring quality management services in house for SWLRT
- Statement regarding changing their conflict of interest policy on future projects (not clearly defined at this point)
- Future courses of action
- Administrative challenge to Metropolitan Council’s policy
- Pursuit of legal action regarding SWLRT and future projects
- If Metropolitan Council provides specificity on new conflict of interest policy for projects after SWLRT, do we avoid a lawsuit?
- Fundraising efforts
- Report on current level of support from member firms and costs incurred to date
