Job Description
Hallberg Engineering is searching for an entry-level electrical engineer with the passion and motivation to contribute to innovative, industry-leading designs. In this developmental position the engineer learns to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications. The majority of these projects will encompass designing electrical systems for commercial buildings.

Responsibilities:
The duties listed below are minimum requirements for the position, but are not all encompassing. Each individual is expected to perform any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule.  Under close supervision perform a variety of technical tasks, including:

  • Input of data into pre-written computer programs
  • Run reports or calculations
  • Design portions of a project
  • Research for commercially available equipment. Recommend specifying equipment based on searches
  • May prepare the drawings of designs he or she has originated
  • Perform technical analysis
  • Review existing drawings to determine existing equipment
  • Eventual proficiency expected in the use of computers for design and CAD applications
  • Complete building system energy analysis
  • Assist with building surveys
  • Attend in-house seminars and educational opportunities outside of the office
  • Participate in technical and professional societies
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Little or no professional experience required
  • Completion of the EIT exam is encouraged
  • Exposure to engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD and Revit) preferred
  • Must be able to communicate with a variety of individuals; must be able to follow verbal and written instructions/directions and respond to inquiries
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other business office machines
  • Must be able to move about the work area and travel to work-sites as needed or required
  • Ability to work hybrid per the telecommuting policy
Relationship to Others:
Work for the Project Engineer/Designer on day-to-day questions and to help solve problems.  Minimal client contact. Work with sales representatives to obtain equipment information.
