About Us
Mattson Macdonald Young was established as a structural engineering firm in 1983 by Wesley Mattson and David Macdonald, originally Mattson/Macdonald Inc. Stephanie Young was asked to join them as a partner in 1998, when the company adopted its current name. Joe Cain joined the board in 2004 and Ken Green became a partner in 2012. In 2022, David Hedberg joined us to round out our associate team.
With nine licensed professional engineers, two engineers in training, and three technicians, MMY is large enough to handle big projects but small enough to maintain communication and coordination. At MMY, our goal is to provide sound, safe structures with economical design, and most importantly — to enjoy the work we do and the people we work with.
