KLJ Helps Secure $25 Million RAISE Grant for Robert Street Complete Streets and Viaduct Replacement

KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ) is pleased to announce that our team recently helped secure a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant for the reconstruction and modernization of approximately 1.5 miles of Robert Street in St. Paul, Minn. This crucial project, funded as part of the Department of Transportation's $1.32 billion RAISE grant awards, will deliver significant safety, mobility, and sustainability improvements to the area.
 
This culturally vibrant and historically significant corridor serves as a vital regional link, connecting southern Minnesota cities like Faribault to Ramsey County and Saint Paul. It facilitates commuting, showcases public art, and supports community life while presenting challenges for multimodal transportation. The Robert Street Complete Streets and Viaduct Replacement Project will upgrade pedestrian crossings, improve sidewalks and trails, manage speed, expand multimodal options, and rehabilitate or replace century-old retaining walls and bridge. By improving transit access and enhancing infrastructure, the project aims to encourage safer, more sustainable travel options for all users.
