Description
Prior to the early 1970s the vast majority of sewer rehabilitation projects incorporated conventional dig and replace methods. Trenchless rehabilitation methods have been growing in popularity as municipalities are asked to maintain their even aging infrastructure with reduced budgets and pressure to reduce infiltration and inflow. This presentation will introduce a number of trenchless rehabilitation techniques beginning with sewer cleaning and televising followed by cured-in-place pipe lining, sectional lining, and chemical grouting for main line sewers, manholes, and laterals. The presentation will focus on design criteria, standards, and items to consider when specifying your sewer rehabilitation project.
Suggested specifications will be provided for:
- Cleaning and Televising
- Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP)
- Sectional Lining
- Chemical Grouting
